Climate neutral company

Effectively managing climate neutrality – from carbon footprint to business decision

Increasing pressure from politicians, capital markets, customers, and society makes it clear that climate neutrality and ESG are no longer marginal operational issues, but central questions of corporate management, governance, and risk management. Requirements such as EU taxonomy, CSRD, and ESG criteria are also having an increasing indirect impact – for example, via banks, insurance companies, investors, and customers – and thus directly affect small and medium-sized enterprises.

In practice, determining the carbon footprint is often used as the first step in a climate strategy, as it creates the necessary transparency regarding emissions and serves as a basis for setting targets and planning measures. This step is important – but it falls short if sustainability is limited to analysis and formal compliance with regulatory requirements. Climate neutrality is not achieved through measurement or compensation alone, but through consistent decisions and changes along the value chain.

For advisory boards and company management, this means viewing sustainability not in isolation, but as an integral part of strategy, governance, and company-wide risk management. Climate risks, supply chain dependencies, and regulatory developments must be systematically assessed, prioritized, and translated into decisions—as must opportunities arising from efficiency gains, cost reductions, and new market requirements.

We support companies in setting up climate neutrality as an integrated management system: from in-depth analysis and robust decision-making bases to operational implementation. The focus is on effectiveness, efficiency, and feasibility – not on pure reporting.

Our Operating Framework

Execution capability in transformation

In situations involving change and transformation, we consider not only processes and structures, but also the orientation, cooperation, and implementation capabilities of teams and leadership, as these factors play a decisive role in determining whether changes will have a lasting effect.

Digital evaluations as the basis for effective decisions

In our projects, we use digital, web-based evaluations as needed to capture complex situations in a structured, comparable, and transparent manner.

This is supported by a tool developed by Laforet-IT that allows evaluations to be carried out efficiently along processes, organization, quality, leadership, and performance – from data collection to a consolidated basis for decision-making.

The results are available in real time, enable cross-location and cross-departmental comparisons, and create a reliable basis for prioritization, control, and implementation. This makes qualitative assessments comprehensible, measurable, and effectively anchored.

The tool is always used in a supportive manner and is fully embedded in our consulting and implementation work.

Network partners

For specialized issues such as CO₂ accounting, we involve qualified network partners as needed and take care of the classification, control, and integration of the results into strategy and implementation.
